Top Ten Ways to Make Money on Worldwinner
I fond this post made by tbih and I thought it was an awesome post so I decide to share it with everyone so here it is.
When I signed up with my initial $10 way-back-when, I decided I would play until there was no money left and I would never re-deposit. Well, I’m still here, playing on my initial $10 investment. Let’s face it, not all of us have what it takes to make money here. Those of us who do make money rely on those of you who lose money. So we need you! But if you’re serious about it and not just here for entertainment, here are some tips.
1. Be very good in at least one game. This one is the most important, so I’ve given it the most attention. By “very good” I mean that you should be able to land a winning place in the Daily Delight in Division 1 most days. AND profit in it. If it takes you 10 tries, you should be able to make at least $10. How do you do this?
A. Try all of the games using the free warm-up games. Find a game that you feel you are particularly naturally good at. My game is Dynomite but maybe yours is a word game. I could never be good enough at a word game to make money, even if I knew all of the best strategies.
B. READ THE RULES! You need to understand where the points come from. You need to know if you should run down the time in order to make that big combination, or if you should sacrifice the big combo in order to move to the next level quickly. When in doubt, ask on the forums.
C. YOUTUBE! Most, if not all, of the games have at least one video on YouTube showing an “elite” player making a big score. It’s not always obvious by watching how the scores get so big, which is why you can’t rely on this by itself. But videos can be very helpful.
D. FORUMS! For strategies, search the forums. Always search before you post though as I have no doubts most of the questions have already been answered. Be nice and say “thank you”!
E. PRACTICE! Free games are boring, but they’re free. When you want to know where you stand, play a few $0.75 games. If you feel you’re winning more than you’re losing, move to a low cost multi-player game. Finally, play the Daily Delight. This will really show you where your scores need to be. If you’re not there yet, practice more. Free games are great for trying out different strategies to see what works best for you. Now that you’re very good in at least one game…
2. Become very good at a second game! I haven’t completed this step yet, so it isn’t necessary to profit. But it sure would be helpful!
3. Don’t play a game just because you like it – play it because you can make money at it. If you’re terrible at Word Mojo but you think it’s fun to play, go ahead. Just stick to the free games. Otherwise, most, if not all of the games are available elsewhere on the internet for download for a small fee. They give you more levels, more options, more fun, and at a fraction of the cost than if you were to play losing games on WW.
4. Take advantage of Reward Points. I like to play the Super Rewards games. 100 or 500 per game. (Just make sure you can profit from them!) Play more games on average on days with bonus points. I save up my points until I can cash them in for $100. That happens about once a month. That right there can keep me playing, even if I’ve had a terrible month. I know a ton of people play much more than I do and they probably can make more in a month from rewards.
5. Keep a minimum balance. I started by keeping a $100 minimum, but too many times I came too close to losing it all. So I bumped it up to $200. Now I keep a $300 minimum balance. By this, I mean that whenever I make a withdrawal, I always leave $300. So if I lose my cool and play too many premium games, or maybe I just have a bad month, there’s always enough money to recover.
6. Know your limits. If you enter a game and the winning slots are already filled with scores near your highest scores, move on. Unless you’re confident you can place, there’s no point in spending more money on that tournament.
7. Win it Now. This is a great feature for both the good players and the not-so-good players. If you beat out a player you know to be better than you, by all means, use win it now to claim your victory. Be careful though. If you’ve already entered more than once and you can win it now, the calculations they give you on the payout won’t be accurate. You need to calculate it yourself to see if you will make money or lose money. If there are too many open slots, you may want to just wait and hope that your score will win. But unless you feel you have an excellent score, take the sure win rather than hoping your score doesn’t get beat.
8. Take a loss. I used to do this when there was a 3 player, $10 entry, $25 payout game for Dynomite. If I played the first game and got a bad score, I’d play a second time. I loved this tournament because you could play twice and still come out $5 ahead if you won. But if I played a second time and still had a poor score, and the third slot was still open, I’d go ahead and play the third slot as well. I would play $30, win $25, and have a $5 loss. If I didn’t, I could almost guarantee that someone else would beat me and I’d take a $20 loss instead. Plus, by doing this, I get extra reward points. And another bonus is that nobody else has to know just how terribly you played. 
9. Keep track. How many games does it take you to win an Unlimited Entry tournament? Find out. Keep track of how many games you’re playing and what your winnings are. I use a spreadsheet, but you can just as well keep track in a notebook. Eventually you will see a pattern and know on average how many games you can expect to play to win an Unlimited Entry tournament. If you’re spending more than you’re winning, stop playing those tournaments until you’re better. This also helps when you’re trying to make money in more than one game. When Zen Gems came out, I kept track and leaned that I was usually losing money in the Daily, but I could, on average, win money in the bigger tournaments. I learned that even though I was still making money every month, I was actually losing money overall in Zen Gems. But because I tracked it, I now know that if I’m going to play, I know which tournaments to play, and how many times I should enter in order to increase my chances of profit.
10. Know when to play and when not to play. Some people play better at different times of the day. If you have a preferred time of day, stick with it. If you’re on a winning streak and playing well, keep playing! Likewise, know when to stop if you’re just not in the groove. Don’t let your ego get in the way: “I know I can play better than this!” is a sure way to lose money. If you’re having a bad day, then call it quits. There are other small things that count for a few dollars here and there, but I figured this was a pretty good start. And I figure others will chime in with their strategies. Just remember that in order to win, others have to lose. So be nice to them if they ask you questions or whatever. They’re here because they enjoy being here, even if it costs them money to play. Without them, you can’t make money, so… be nice and have fun!

i’d say that the most important points here are to read the rules and keep a minimum balance. the best way to make a bit of extra money this way is too be sensible with your cash in the first place!
